True stories. Real people. Giving life.

A Life Moving Toward God

From the very beginning, life was about fellowship with God—living with our Creator in peace and well-being (Ps. 36:9). You might say, we are only truly living when we are moving toward God.

We get a clearer snapshot of what life means in the New Testament—life is Christ. In fact, the One who IS Life tells us that we can only move toward God through Him. (John 20:31). Through Christ we see not only how we can have life, but what life is supposed to look like.

That’s why ministries that seek to share life are so important. At the same time they are addressing real problems and crushing needs, they are helping people move toward God again. They are untangling feet, removing obstacles, and cheering at the finish line.

The cool thing is there are hundreds of ways ministries are helping the lost move toward God. It doesn’t matter if they offering a cup of clean water or empowering a broken voice to sing a new song. If performed in the name of Christ, any act—big or small—can point to the Life Giver.

That’s why the first season of Giving of Life 2012 focuses on 14 different ministry areas. For the Giving of Life team, the reality of life begins now, and we believe each of these categories is crucial to helping people experience true life.

Check out each life-giving category. They are filled with ministries that are meeting needs and casting big dreams:

Is your life moving toward God? Or are you finding your circumstances and fears pressing against your ankles? As the writer of Hebrews says: “Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us,…” Hebrews. 12:1 (HCSB).

Run with endurance, life givers! Help us dream of a day when life will be totally free from sin and we are running in the light of the One True Life Giver!

So, join the race! Help us move others toward the finish line. Browse the ministry categories by clicking on their links, and tell us which one means the most to you!
